- To support social causes, provide aid to those in need, promote education healthcare, and environmental sustainability, and address poverty and inequality.

CONTENT:
- On 19 October 2024 the students of F.Y.B. ED and S.Y.B. ED were part of the contribution drive with the Aakansha social foundation.
- All students brought the material that they want to contribute whereas some gave money.
- We were informed about their foundation by them and where they will give all this material too.
- They also told us that we can join them in this drive.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Giving back can help people feel a sense of purpose and empowerment.
- Donating can help children develop skills like responsibility, generosity, respect, honesty, optimism, and fairness.
- Contribution doesnโt mean when you give big things every small thing counts even a person giving one thing or less money is valued this gives them the empowerment which in turn develops their self-esteem.
- Donating to a cause you believe in can help you make a positive difference in your local community.

Mango Seed Donation Drive
Humera Khan College Of Education in collaboration with HKCP organized Mango Seed Donation Drive on 8th June, 2024. The estimated faculty present included are principle Dr masarrat Ali maram , Prof In Charge Avani Kanakia , Prof Varsha Gamare , Prof Vidya Vishwakarma , Prof Sandhya Sarwade , Prof Vikas Yadav, Prof Shenaz Khan and our librarian Suman maram . It also comprised of enthusiastic participation from FY.B.Ed and SY.B..Ed students.
One of the best things about summers is we get to savour the King of Fruits that
is none other than MangoBut usually after eating we tend to just dispose of the
seeds..itrs high time we start acting towards environmental awareness “So join us for a noble cause! ”
Werre organizing a Mango Seed Donation Drive at H.K. College of
Pharmacy in collaboration with H. K. College of Education on June 8th,2024 .
All you need to do is bring dried seeds of Mangoes and donate it. The seeds collected would be donated to an NGO “Donate Plant Organization”. Your small act can make a big difference! See you there!

- It is very important to understand the cause of the fire because there are different types of fire extinguishers for different
- Fire safety training also includes the preparation of emergency fire evacuation plans.
On 16th May a workshop on fire safety was organized for students of S.Y.B.Ed at Humera Khan College of education. The workshop was conducted by Akanksha Foundation. It was a part of community work.
Ajay kashyap sir from Akanksha Foundation briefed us about fire safety. What to do when you are in such a situation. How to extinguish fire. It was a very interactive session. Students were actively participating.
It was explained to us that we have to deal with such situations calmly and avoid panicking. We learnt how to use fire extinguishers and what are the types of fire. For instance fire caused while cooking or fire caused by an electric circuit, etc.
At the end Neha Gaikwad from Akanksha Foundation asked the students to give a summary of the session and also asked the students that they can clarify their doubts regarding the session. The session was very informative. Students learnt the fire safety measures through this session.
Community Work Report- Tree Plantation Drive.
Objectives:
- Promoting biodiversity, combating climate change through carbon sequestration, and preventing soil erosion.
- Involving students in environmental stewardship, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their surroundings.
- Enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Institute area, providing shade, reducing air pollution, and mitigating the urban heat island effect.
- Creating or restoring habitats for various species, supporting local ecosystems, and promoting wildlife conservation.
Supporting sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry, promoting sustainable land management practices, and enhancing ecosystem services such as water purification and flood control.
Significance:
Trees play a crucial role in mitigating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen through photosynthesis. They also help in improving air quality by filtering pollutants and particulate matter. Trees provide habitats for various species of plants, animals, and microorganisms, contributing to biodiversity preservation. Planting native tree species helps in restoring and maintaining ecosystems. Tree roots help in preventing soil erosion by stabilising the soil structure and reducing surface runoff. They also contribute to soil fertility by enhancing nutrient cycling and organic matter decomposition.Trees regulate the water cycle by absorbing and releasing water through transpiration. They help in groundwater recharge, reduce the risk of floods by intercepting rainfall, and prevent soil erosion along riverbanks and coastlines.They also provide valuable resources such as timber, fruits, nuts, and medicinal plants, contributing to local economies and livelihoods.Trees enhance the aesthetic appeal of landscapes, parks, and urban areas, making them more pleasant and inviting for recreational activities. Green spaces with trees have been linked to improved mental health and well-being.
Report:
On 17th May 2024 Tree Plantation Drive was held in HKCE campus organised by HKCE Faculty members in collaboration with Akanksha Social Foundation for the S.Y.B.Ed students for their community service work. At first Akanksha Foundation members gave their introduction and then proceeded with planting the plants in the HKCE campus. All the students had bought their own plants. Some had bought Tulsi, Curry Leaves plant, Tomato plant, etc. All the individuals planted their own plants with the help of faculty members. Even the institute gardener helped us and guided us to plant the tree. After planting the plants everyone watered their plants. While planting the plants every student and faculty member said their slogans. At the end Akanksha Foundation members told us the importance of planting trees and how we can also plant trees in our surroundings.
Overall, it was a fun experience planting a tree. Tree plantation is essential for maintaining ecological balance, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring a better quality of life for present and future generations.
Community Work
Humera khan College Of Education in collaboration with Aakansha Foundation celebrated science day on 28th February at Desire Society and Prem Niketan Orphanage under the guidance of our class teacher Prof. Dr Avani Kanakia.
Street play and science experiments were performed by the students of hkce.
The objective of the street play was to make the childrens aware about the importance and appropriate use of Science and Technology and their benefits in our day to day life. The day concluded with a question and answer session.
Humera khan College of Education Organised Poster Making and Slogan Writing Activity In Collaboration With Aakansha Social Foundation on 4th December 2023 at HKCE Classroom.
The theme of the Poster and Slogan Writing activity was ‘Save Environment’
It is important to educate student teachers on how to save our planet, make our environment greener, a need to plant more trees, and keep our surroundings clean and free from all forms of pollution, not just today, but every day.
A Poster Making and Slogan Writing activity was organised to raise awareness among our students which resulted in some positive changes in our society.
Community Work – Day 5 2st December 2023
Humera Khan College of Education organised Beach Clean Up for B.Ed students in collaboration with Aakansha Social Foundation and created awareness on National Pollution Control Day.
Beach clean ups help to reduce pollution and waste in our environment. By cleaning up litter and other types of waste, we can prevent them from entering our waterways, harming wildlife, and polluting our air.

Seminar on “Nutrition for life a healthy eating”
A seminar on “Nutrition for life a healthy eating” was held in Humera Khan College of Education in collaboration with Aakansha Foundation on 30th November 2023.
Dr. Madhu Vidyabhushan Dietician was the resource person of the session. She insisted that everyone should consume a proper diet with adequate nutrients which is necessary to avoid long term malnutrition that leads to diseases and lack of efficiency. According to Dr. Madhu, consuming nutritious food is like taking care of your body; one needs to eat healthy and keep healthy for a good future. A proper food pyramid should be followed, and all kinds of nutrients should be consumed from different sources.
Students who interacted more during the session were felicitated with a certificate. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks. The session was very informative and interactive.
Community Work Day 2
A visit to the orphanage – โPrem Niketanโ
Humera Khan College Of Education collaboration with Akanksha Foundation organized a Community Work for the batch (2023-25) of FY.B.Ed students. Dr. Sandhya Sarwade was Incharge Professor of the activity.
A visit to the orphanage โPrem Niketanโ was organised on 29 November 2023. First the F.Y.B.Ed students one by one introduced themselves to the children present in the orphanage and then there was a children’s part to introduce themselves as well so that they can know each other so that it would create a familiar environment for the students. After that there was a fun game session that took place in which two different types of games were played in which the students as well as the children had a great time. Visiting the orphanage was like creating a light and fun environment in which both the students and children present there had a great time. Concluding the visit the students of F.Y.B.Ed had brought a few token of love for the children of the orphanage.

It was a Visit to an Orphanage “Desire Society Children Care Home” located in Malad West.The students and children at the orphanage played games and had fun together. The day ended with some gifts and goodies distribution.

volunteers attended the beach cleaning drive and contributed towards the betterment of the environment and society. They gather large number of bags of carefully sorted garbage which included plastic bags, bottles etc.
Blood Donation Drive

Humera Khan College of Education organised Blood Donation Drive and urges everyone to donate blood and be the reason for someone’s existence.
Number of students and faculty members were enthusiastically participated in the blood donation camp. A certificate of appreciation, donation card, refreshment was given to each donor as a token of gratitude.
